The guy pictured here is my father, Wilbur Richard Carroll Smith (AKA Wib Smith AKA WRC Smith II). Seventy-five years ago today, he was born in Dalls, Texas. Almost 30 years after that, he permitted my birth.

Thanks Dad. It's been wonderful knowing you the past forty-five years! Seriously, friends and lovers may come and go, but you have always been there for me, even the times when you didn't think you were.

Your spirit still continues to grow and transform. You continue to learn and improve yourself. All in all, you are a tough act to follow, but just the same, I'm glad you are out there ahead of me.

Just knowing you is the best present I ever had. You, however, will have to make due with random crap I buy from Amazon.com.
